| The Jewish Education
Center of Cleveland has $13,000 available each year, to be apportioned
equitably
among JECC day, supplementary and early childhood affiliates "for
educators to travel outside of Cleveland to attend conferences
and workshops that will improve their teaching skills."
Programs considered for grant funds must be relevant to participants’ present
and future goals in education and should evidence a high level
of quality. Grants must be approved prior to attending a conference.
Applicants will be screened for their likely willingness to share
their experiences with others, and their commitment to remain in
Jewish education.
Applicants may request up to one third of a proposed program’s
total cost (registration, lodging, and travel). Eligibility also
may be based on availability of other financial sources to the
applicant.
In apportioning funds, first- time attendees may receive preference.
Also, need may be considered. While most funding will be awarded
for conferences with Judaic content, general studies teachers are
welcome to apply for grants to attend workshops in their disciplines,
and such applications will be considered, depending on monies available.
