Special Education

The Special Education Department of the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland provides services for children with special needs from early childhood through age twenty-one, delivered through the JECC’s affiliated preschools, supplementary schools and day schools.

Three communal programs are available to meet the needs of students with special needs.

  • The Etgar program provides classes for students with special needs in the supplementary schools.
  • Segula is an inclusion program in the day schools that provides individualized support to students with special needs.
  • B'Tzelem: Jewish Teen Learning Companions is a program designed to help create more inclusive Jewish classrooms in supplementary schools.

Segula and Etgar annually sponsor community-wide events in the Cleveland area in honor of Jewish Disability Awareness Month.
