Our special education consulting department offers ongoing sensitivity training workshops for educators, school personnel, and madrichim in both Jewish day school and congregational education settings. We offer teacher coaching in the areas of differentiated instruction, classroom strategies, and identifying student needs.
provides educational opportunities to families in Cleveland’s
Jewish community who seek a Jewish day school education for children with special
needs. SEGULA, meaning “special treasure” in Hebrew, provides vital services that
ensure a meaningful and successful learning experience for the child and fellow
classmates in preschool through high school. Adaptations and educational
interventions, in both Judaic and general studies, are provided by
intervention specialists and classroom aides.
SEGULA is also an approved provider for the Ohio Department of Education for both the Autism Scholarship and the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship.
CAMP GRANTS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

HYMAN, BLANCHE, GLADYS, RITA AND NORMA GURLAND MEMORIAL FUND
Through the Hyman, Blanche, Gladys, Rita and Norma Gurland Memorial Fund, the Jewish Education Center of Cleveland is able to offer limited grants to children with special needs. The student should have an IEP. These funds are available to first and second timers going to a variety of camps offering special programming to the campers.
To apply for the funding, the student must reside in the Greater Cleveland community.
