Dr. Lifsa Schachter Early Childhood Educator Award

This supervisor-nominated award recognizes an individual early childhood educator that possesses a professional skill-set and sophisticated understanding of the unique developmental, social, emotional, and educational needs of children, birth to PreK.

The recipient will be awarded $1,500.

Any educator who has over three years teaching experience in an early childhood setting and who is currently employed (part or full time) in a JEC affiliated early childhood program is eligible to be nominated. The nominee must minimally have an associate degree and at least one specialization (major, license, or certification) in early childhood. Lastly, the nominee must demonstrate a classroom practice that indicates that she or he pays attention to developmentally appropriate practice, encourages and inspires Jewish learning, and

focuses on supporting the family.
